On Friday Junior Infants A and B went on a nature walk to Carrigaline Park. We walked the whole way from the school and back again. Everybody walked with a partner and we used the safe cross code we had been learning during the week when we crossed the road.
At the park we looked at the trees. We saw that a lot of the trees were losing their leaves and changing colour. We looked at the river and saw the ducks and gulls.
Whilst we were at the park we played at the playground. We had a really fantastic and fun time. Our teachers Rory and Niamh were really proud of us. Thank you to Thomas who came to help us too!
When we got back to school after our walk we were all exhausted but we had a brilliant time. We can't wait for our next adventure outside of the school!
This week Junior Infants A and B celebrated Rosh Hashanah which is the Jewish New Year.
On Friday the classes ate some apples dipped in honey. Apples are sweet and honey is sweet too. Jewish people eat apples dipped in honey on Rosh Hashanah for a sweet and joyful year ahead.
As we all ate our apples dipped in honey we said 'Shanah Tovah' which is Hebrew for 'Happy New Year'.
We all really enjoyed learning about Rosh Hashanah this week.
Shanah Tovah everyone!
For the next number of weeks Junior Infants A and B will be undertaking GAA classes with Brendan O'Driscoll from Carrigaline GAA.
The lessons will take place every Friday for the next 5/6 weeks.
We had our first session last Friday and had lots of fun.
A reminder that the full infant day begins on Monday 18th of September.
School will begin at the same time-8.50 am.
Small break will be from 10.50-11.00 am.
